Optimization of waste collection, intelligent lighting, management of pedestrian flows, improvement of air quality, the IoT offer for the cities of Axians is based on a private communication network, sensors, a storage platform and data management.
At the Salon des Maires et des Collectivités Locales to be held at Paris – Porte de Versailles from 2018 November 20th to 22nd, Axians, a major player in high-speed broadband networks and communication solutions for local authorities, illustrates its expertise of the Internet of Things (IoT) for the city of Aix-en-Provence.
IoT know-how for local authorities illustrated by the city of Aix en Provence
On the Axians booth – C14 booth, Pavilion 3 – visitors will be able to understand the full range of IoT capacities for cities via a video and a demonstrator allowing an immersion in the city of Aix-en-Provence. Thus, they will be able to see all the use cases of IT technologies allowing a city to become more efficient.
Visitors will also be able to discuss the deployment of digitalization solutions in the city through the prism of technology and the ability of Axians to take charge of the completeness of the project based on all its know-how, the deployment of support infrastructures, the LoRaWan and Wifi private network, until the implementation of a data storage and management platform.
As an integrator of global solutions, we support cities and local communities for end to end projects from the definition of use cases, to the governance of the platform, through technical architecture consulting, the deployment and operation of infrastructures (networks, sensors, datalake). We are the conductor of all the technological partners involved in all aspects of the project
says Vincent Lemoux, Director at VINCI Energies Sud Est.
For his part, Juan Lopez CTO at Axians insists on Axians’ offer specificity:
Cities and local authorities continue to own infrastructure and data. This notion of ownership is essential because it allows them to rely on a transversal infrastructure, fed by data from all their sensors they own. Thanks to this non-silted infrastructure and field data, mayors and local authorities can develop new services independently.
The very high speed network serving the valuation of territories
In addition to its IT expertise, Axians is also a major player in the deployment of telecommunication infrastructures, particularly the “Plan France Très Haut Débit”. Its experts participate in the development and attractiveness of the territories by reducing the digital divide. By 2022, 26 French departments will be deployed by Axians, which designs the networks and manages the specialized companies of the VINCI Energies group in the deployment work. Eventually, 600,000 households in rural areas will be connected to fiber optics and will benefit from Very High Speed (over 30 Mb / s).
Axians supports the Pays Voironnais, through PVNum, and accelerates digital development by deploying a high-speed fiber optic network.
Conference around the projects of Aix-en-Provence and Pays Voironnais
On November 22nd at 11:15, Jérôme Salaun and Stephan Guidarini will animate a conference on the theme “Territorial planning and new uses for local development”, around the projects for the Pays Voironnais and Aix-en-Provence. The City of Aix-en-Provence will present how to take advantage of the innovations made by IoT to address environmental constraints, urban mobility and energy saving. The Pays Voironnais will demonstrate the implementation of a simple, effective and replicable solution so that VSEs / SMEs have Very High Speed at affordable price.
